Solar Bears Add Three Defensemen

Orlando, FL – The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL’s Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that they have agreed to terms with D Bryce Aneloski, D Mike Bergin, and D Brad Good.

Aneloski (6-2, 201 lbs.) returns to Orlando after tying for the team lead among defensemen with nine goals and finishing third among Solar Bears blue liners with Bryce Aneloski28 points. He notched his first professional hat trick on March 22 in South Carolina to lead the Solar Bears to a 4-3 shootout win over the Stingrays. He dressed in seven AHL games, posting one assist in six games with the Iowa Wild after making his AHL debut with the Toronto Marlies. A native of Pekin, IL, Aneloski recorded three assists in six playoff contests for the Solar Bears.

Bergin (6-3, 209 lbs.) was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the 7th round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He has played each of his two professional seasons for Sodertalje in the Allsvenskan League (Second Division in Sweden), scoring two goals and adding five assists for seven points in both 2012-13 and 2013-14. He finished third on his team with 65 PIM last season and was second on the team with 75 PIM the season prior.

Before turning pro, the native of Ottawa, ON, played four seasons (2008-12) for RPI (Renselaer Polytechnic Institute). During his senior season (2011-12), Bergin served as the captain while leading the team with 75 PIM and finishing second among RPI defensemen with 10 points. Bergin appeared in 107 games during his collegiate career, posting eight goals and 32 assist for 40 points and collecting 163 PIM.

Good (6-2, 200 lbs.) appeared in three games for the Solar Bears in the 2012-13 season, picking up two penalty minutes. He also skated in eight games for the Mississippi Surge tallying one goal, one assist, and 23 PIM. Good’s professional career also includes 106 PIM, one goal, and eight assists in 60 games with the Missouri Mavericks (CHL) in 2011-12 and one assist in a six game stint with the Florida Everblades at the end of the 2010-11 season. A native of Kitchener, ON, Good served as an Assistant Coach at the University of New Brunswick last season.
