Clerk Launches New Website
In last month’s Center Court, I shared that my office was putting the final touches on our new website. I am thrilled to report that Friday’s launch of the new site went off without a hitch. As we do after any major project, we will carefully monitor activity to determine what is working well and where we still have opportunities to improve.
The new website was developed with our customers in mind. Because the Clerk’s Office provides a wide range of services, it is imperative that information be easy to locate and easy to understand. We realize that not all of our customers are legal experts and we want to present information in a way that our customers can easily understand. And the responsiveness of the new site means customers can easily access information on a laptop, tablet or smart phone.
Take a tour of the new and let us know what you think.

2016 United Way Campaign Kicks Off
The beginning of summer at the Clerk’s Office means it’s time to start our annual Heart of Florida United Way campaign. Last year our team raised nearly $24,000 to benefit the United Way while helping the county as a whole raise more than $500,000. It will be a challenge to beat last year’s donations, but we’re up for it. In fact, we’re even getting started a little earlier this year to get a head start. Look for United Way campaign events and updates throughout the summer.
Getting Married at the Clerk’s Officecasamento
June is one of the most popular months for couples to walk down the aisle, but with some weddings costing thousands of dollars you may be looking for a more affordable way to ‘tie the knot.’ For the cost of a marriage license and $30 for the ceremony, couples can say ‘I do’ in one of our spectacular marriage ceremony rooms.
At the Orange County Courthouse, our ceremony room consists of a gorgeous white paper flower archway that romantically frames couples as they take their vows. Neatly lined silver and white chairs allow family and friends to be a part of this special occasion.
Our Apopka, Ocoee and Winter Park branches also have private ceremony rooms. Please remember, all ceremonies are performed on a first come, first served basis.

employeeJune Star Performer
Congratulations to deputy clerk Marc LaRusso for being chosen as our June Star Performer. Marc, who is a member of our Family Division, was nominated for his determination to improve processes, his great attitude and his unwavering drive to learn.
“Marc is a hard-working individual; he is not afraid to get his hands dirty,” said a colleague in nominating Marc for the award. “When presented with the opportunity to have lunch with a member of the senior team, he decided to have it with the staff attorney to better educate himself on the indigency process. He takes upon himself projects to better improve our division.”
