ORLANDO, FL. – August travel numbers are in and Orlando International Airport (MCO) registered a 7.4 percent increase in passenger traffic led by a nearly 10 and a half percent rise in international passenger volume.

“As Orlando International Airport continues to attract new airline service and routes, we have been able to maintain double-digit international passenger growth on a consistent basis,” says Frank Kruppenbacher, Chairman of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “This in turn grows this destination and helps to further stimulate the local economy.”

August 2016 Statistical Data:

  • International traffic increased 10.42 percent in August with 554,302 total passengers
  • Domestic passenger traffic climbed 6.85 percent on 2,894,801 passengers at MCO
  • Combined overall traffic was up 7.41 percent in August with a total of 3,449,103 travelers
  • On a rolling 12-month basis overall traffic is up 10.10 percent over 2015 levels with 41,310,190 passengers at MCO

While traffic was up in August, indicators are that passenger numbers will continue to reflect the access provided by new routes and services being introduced at Orlando International.
